Update: Richthofen did fantastic at his first show: won both his classes, earned a 79% at Training 1, and High Score of the entire show.
Richthofen is a four year old Oldenburg gelding by Rotspon with a fantastic mind. Currently standing 16.1h with four white socks, he is built uphill with a convex outline ideal for dressage. He has three clear, correct elastic gaits. His movement is almost cat-like: very soft and light on his feet (see video). He was named a Premium Foal with a score of 8.2 at his inspection.
Richthofen inherited Rotspon’s superb temperament. Richthofen is a happy athlete who absolutely loves his work! He is a very willing horse and really tries for the rider. Responsive, intelligent, and brave – for his amount of training he does a wonderful job of remaining on the rider’s aids despite outside stimuli (blue tarps, new horses, etc.)
On November 4, 2013 Richthofen was ridden in a Conrad Schumacher clinic. At that time he had 10 weeks undersaddle. Richthofen handled the new arena fantastic; remaining relaxed and focused on the rider with no signs of resistance or tension. Conrad commented, “You have a very willing horse. It’s amazing how willing this horse is after only a few weeks under the saddle in an arena where he was never before.” (See video at Schumacher clinic)
Richthofen has wonderful ground manners: stands quietly cross-tied, easy for the farrier, trailer loads, and stands for bathing. Undersaddle Richthofen performs walk, trot, canter, and turn-on-the-forehand while remaining soft in the hand and accepting the bit. He is sound of wind, limb, and mind.
Richthofen is available for purchase at Serendipity Dressage in Clarksville, Tn. You may contact the Trainer via cellular at (931) 801-1399 or email at mciemily13@gmail.com. The price of the outstanding gelding is currently $28,000 US Dollars.
