Dressage Training with Emily McIntosh
Dressage training is available to horses of all ages, breeds, and levels from starting undersaddle to fine tuning upper level movements. We create happy athletes through consistent, patient, thoughtful care tailored to the individual horse’s physical and psychological needs.

Through a decade of training a variety of horses (Arabians to drafts and many of the breeds in-between), I have learned how to assess the individual horse's character, conformation, and movement to customize the training program to bring out the best in that particular horse.
After earning the horse's respect, restoring or preserving the horse's mental soundness and relaxation remains the priority throughout the training. A horse that is mentally content is a happy athlete and a joy to train. With this foundation of relaxation, no matter the level,
horse and rider can become art
(not mechanically going through forced movements).
There is a disconcertingly thin line between expanding the horse's comfort zone and sacrificing the horse's willing character. I have been privileged to work with trainers such as JT and Wren Burnley, Axel Steiner, and Conrad Schumacher who have helped me develop my eye and feel to enable me to walk this fine line.
